PRESBYTERY OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE:  Financial Administrator (Part-time, 15 hours a week)

 

CLASSIFICATION:  Salaried Exempt – Administrative

 

PURPOSE:

            To provide:

1)    Maintain the finances and financial records of the Presbytery.

2)    Disburse proper authorization, all funds of the Presbytery

3)    Financial services and support to the churches of this Presbytery

4)    Financial services and support to the staff of this Presbytery

5)    Financial information to the Presbytery, Council, Committees, Presbytery Treasurer and the Presbytery Executive

 

ACCOUNTABILITY:

            Accountable to the Presbytery through the Presbytery Executive who is the immediate supervisor.  Also, accountable to the elected Presbytery Treasurer for the fiscal integrity of the Presbytery.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Keep accurate accounting of all monies received and disbursed by the Presbytery

·         Preparation of Presbytery budget with PAMSI Committee

·         Prepare monthly financial statements and reports.

·         Maintain accurate records of the various funds and endowments of the Presbytery

·         Ex-Officio to PAMSI, Trustees and other committees on request

·         Prepare payroll and all related federal and state reports

·         Facilitate a fall workshop for church treasurers/financial church personnel

    
QUALIFICATIONS:

1.    Minimum of two years experience in bookkeeping and accounting.

2.    Skilled in organization and teamwork.  Self-motivated, dependable, responsible and flexible.

3.    Working knowledge and experience in use of computers and software

4.    Must be bondable

5.    Ability to multi-task with poise and confidence.

6.    Ability to effectively communicate with officers, treasurers and pastors of churches

7.    Courteous and sensitive to the religious community and willing to develop a working knowledge of the organizational structure of the Presbytery of the Inland Northwest

8.    Possess an understanding of and commitment to the mission and structure of the Presbyterian Church (USA)

 

 

EVALUATION:

            Performance review will be conducted annually by the Executive Presbyter and the Personnel Committee.  This is in accordance with the personnel policies of the Presbytery.  The Personnel Committee annually reviews the adequacy of compensation.
