Upcoming Gatherings

Have you heard….?

SUMMIT is the new name chosen for our quarterly presbytery and learning community gatherings. What we called Great Merger is now known as SUMMIT!

Our first Summit of 2019 will be February 2nd, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church of Coeur d’Alene and the Innovation Den in downtown Coeur d’Alene from 9:30-3:30 (doors open at 9:00). We will spend our day sharing stories about where we have noticed God in our neighborhoods, as well as worshipping together and doing some business together. We will also participate in the Blanket Exercise, a special learning experience that teaches Indigenous rights history in an interactive way.

We’ll be sent out in the downtown CDA area for lunch, so remember to bring your lunch money. Anyone in a congregation is welcome and encouraged to attend to hear what God is up to throughout our region and how we are being called to partner with God.

Contact Katie McKinstry ASAP at 509-924-4148 if you need childcare.

Request to host “Open Space Discussion” group

Open Space is a large group process in which “space” is provided for people to gather around ministry topics for discussion, collaboration, networking, and information sharing.  The heart of Open Space is a belief that there is a passion amongst the Presbytery for our shared ministries; those ministries that currently exist, and those yet to be discovered.  Have a topic you want to explored during Open Space? You can request space for a future Presbytery gathering on the Presbytery’s website or suggest a topic at the beginning of any Open Space session.  Any Teaching Elder in good standing with the Presbytery, Commissioned Ruling Elder or Ruling Elder Commissioner to Presbytery will be granted their request to host a topic so long as – 1. A moderator for the discussion is identified and 2. There is a recorder (not the moderator) to take notes and submit the notes in electronic form to the Presbytery Office.  You can direct any questions you have about the Open Space gatherings to the Strategic Team chaired by Brandon Comella – [email protected].

If you would like to ask for time to host a group during the Open Space Discussion time at the Presbytery gathering, please e-mail Katie at [email protected].
