Treasurer/Trustee Resources

The Book of Order asks that a financial review be conducted each year. Here’s the wording from the book:
“A full financial review of all financial books and records shall be conducted every year by a public accountant or committee of members versed in accounting procedures. Reviewers should not be related to the treasurer(s). Terminology in this section is meant to provide general guidance and is not intended to require or not require specific audit procedures or practices as understood within the professional accounting community.”
Our Financial Administrator, Kurt Hartvigsen is available to conduct a review for your church in our office at no cost. Typically, reviews take place on a Thursday (Kurt’s day in the office) at 10am, but if another day and time works better, it can be arranged. Please contact Katie ([email protected]) to figure out a date and time that will work for you.
If your church will be having someone else do this review for you, please report the details of your review to our office, so we can keep track of what churches are getting their reviews done elsewhere. We’re here to help you in whatever way we can regarding this, so please let us know how you usually take care of your yearly review and we can be sure to update our records if you have something already in place, or get something on the calendar here if need be.
